duuude thats weird and not true..
what happens is they use direct x or java ect ect (the list goes on) to embed a virus into the site which downloads onto your computer without your knowlage. anyway that is one way, there are many..
also hackers put viruses on sites its not always the webmasters

Yes. Some sites do what's called "Painting." They "pain" a virus over a pic on their website. Just by opening the site you can get the virus on your pc.

If you are using a browser without any security features, yes.
Being a computer novice dosen't help either, many websites contain bogus links, if you are a new to the internet you might get fooled.

Some people think its fun to include malicious code into their pages. Keep your machine up to date, make sure your virus scanner is running all the time and you'll be fine.

yes, it depends on your browser and what you have it do, I use internet explorer because it gives access to certain security settings that other browsers don't, but if you change certain settings to make it more secure, you may find many web pages don't work as intended, and really it is quite annoying, anyways the answer to your question is yes, and it is very sad :(

of course...viruses and worms are very aggressive,,,they take chances...most programmers place them on dirty websites...so dirty people viewing them gets viruses to teach them lessons...
