I need to find out if someone died in my house, killed, murder, became very ill. If my house was built on some Indian Plantation or on a grave yard. I dunno but there are like 4 houses on my block that are haunted. And I need to do some research...So help me out...Give me soo good links or sites..PLEASE!!!!!!!

Check your local library. They will most likely have old archived copies of the city newspapers, and probably some community papers. The microfiche machine will become your new best friend! =)

You can approach your local police department, explaining that you'd like to be able to research the local neighborhood history. The 'haunted' part of the story may help or hinder, it depends on the person that you are asking. If they give you any problems, you may be able to get better information by using the FOIA (http://foia.state.gov/).

Try looking up your local County Assessor's office. For a small fee, you can obtain the housing sales records for the county for the past "X" number of years. Using those dates, you may be able to correlate any 'odd looking' sales data along with other dates to try to determine if there was a hurried sale....

If you own your house, or if your parents do, go to the Title Insurance Co. that sold you the title insurance policy of the house and find out what they have as far back as King Philip (of the Indians, not Spain). That's a start.
