A friend of mine was raped, and she feels that if the guy gets raped it is justified. Some people also feel that child molesters deserve it. What if they are in jail for stealing? What if they are there mistakingly? I've read that some of the rape occurs from correctional officers. Some of the officers also turn the other way when rape is occurring. Do the prisoners still deserve to be protected? Or do you believe they deserve it?

I don't believe anyone deserves to be raped either. I guess my friend feels that way out of anger, but two wrongs don't make a right.
I am also disgusted at the officers who are rapists themselves, and the ones who aren't protecting the prisoners.

I don't believe anyone should be raped.
people in jail are serving their time- it should not include sexual abuse.
officers should protect them- not take advantage.
but of course- we live in a world where people, women, men, and children, are taken advantage of all the time...

No one deserves to get raped. That is a total violation of someones body, out of that persons control. Depending on the seriousness of the crimes in prison, there are PC's which stands for Protective Custody, anyone one that is a pedophile, child diddler, rapists, sexual assaults, goes in that hole, in PC. Nobody likes a 'RAT' in prison. You can get beat up for that.
Officers/Prisoner gaurds 'rape' prisoners or inmates, for their 'crimes' to 'teach' them a lesson. Now they are at risk for themselves, to lose that career and reputation. They ALL should just do their jobs and secure prisoners due to their crimes. They don't know what diseases the prisoners may have...especially if they are having sex with other inmates. And the gaurds are posing risk on themselves, depending how violent the inmate is. Stupid if you ask me.

I can't say if anyone deserves to be raped. I only know that we should have compassion on those who do get raped, and make every effort to protect people from the possibility.
That being said, criminals do not stop being criminals when they go to jail. It is common knowledge that sexual assaults, drug abuse, and murder occur in prisons. When someone commits a crime, they know that they are risking being sent to a place where those things happen frequently. So, in that sense, why did they choose to take that risk? I am not talking about the small percentage of innocent people being convicted of crimes they did not commit. I am talking about people who were convicted of crimes they committed.
If you knew of a neighborhood in which drive-by shootings were commonplace, would you choose to go there? If you do, and you were aware of the risk, how much compassion can someone have for you if you get shot? You can say, "I'm not going to let that stop me from going where I want to go", but then, who should be responsible for your safety? Criminals also think this way. We can tell them how unsafe it is in prison, but they are thinking, "I'm not going to let that stop me from doing what I want to do".

No one deserves to be raped, raping a rapist just tallies up more victims without the original crime being truly erased. And don't get me started on wrongful imprisonment.....

But it is said that let not the innocent man turn on the evil man; for there will be another evil man to turn on the evil man. Make sense? Revenge is not ours but I say revenge comes sweet in due time. When revenge comes, I for one have no pity for the child molester. If he suffers extremely, I will be glorified and say, "Revenge is sweet for the innocent."

No, he loses the honour of alternative inmates by making use of no longer status up for himself and is in all probability seen as a "*****" and assaulted back. If he desires to regain their know, he probable has to shank the boys that did that to him. purely sayin'

i think it depends on an individual basis. personally, if i were a guy, and i was in prison, and some jerk came in who had been raping little kids.. or who murdered a kid... or anyone.. or anything like that.. i'd totally rape and beat him and make him feel what he did... and let him know what a low life scum bag he was... then again.. i'm not a guy and i'll never be in prison.. but karma's a b*tch. either way.... they'll get whats coming to them, whether its in this life or the next
