This is just another instance in which nothing will happen unless the United States does something. The UN has never done anything successfully, in which it was created to do
So we'll end up getting involved and when things get violent, the libs will say Bush lied about the starvation
Sound familiar?

The UN have demanded that the government disband the janjaweed. they have asked for larger cooperation with help companies. they have provided a communicate communicate board for the government, SLM/A and JEM. With information from the UN the Darfur Peace contract has been time-honored and there grew to become into additionally the Machakos protocol. this is extraordinarily lots all they might do. they do no longer seem to be entitled to do something that impacts on the sovereignty of Sudan without permission from the Sudanese government.

What exactly do you expect the UN to do ?
UN peace keepers are only allowed into countries with those countries permission.
The Sudan has denied that permission.
The UN Security Council could use Article Seven and forceably interviene.
But then the Security Council members would have to contribute soldiers for the intervention.
The UN has no soldiers themselves, all UN peacekeepers are supplied by UN member nations.
And last but not least:
How could the UN and Security Council justify interviening into a civil war in the Darfur region of Sudan.
While critising America and Britian for interviening in the civil war in Iraq right now.

The UN gives as much help as they can, and they are continuing to do more...
Darfur is a terrible thing, but the UN is ultimately in charge of doing it, and its not like they hold global votes for people to vote in... they do what they do....
and they have done a lot, certainly.
Enough? Whats Enough?
Its Done, or not Done... and they are Not Done as of now...
With the War on Terror and everything else going on, Darfur loses a lot of public attention...
