Option A - Get a job doing whatever it is that you do with a real company where you go into an office. Over time convince your boss and colleagues that whatever it is that you do can be done from home.
Option B - Start your own business doing whatever it is that you do. Convince customers that whatever it is that you do can meet or exceed their needs if you do it from home.
This accounts for almost everyone who works from home. Online work from home companies are scams.

Working from home that is making money without leaving home is a dream of millions of Americans. Very few are successful with it.
Only such people as writers , baby sitters and wives of 1-man-companies are successful. Rest of them mostly end up losing money to some cheats whom the people fall prey to. There is one more category: If you have worked for a company for several years before and are interested in working from home that company may allow you to do that. This is simply because you know the operation of that company so well and some design or accounting type work you can now do from home.
There are of course millions of delivery, sales and other types of home-based businesses of your own.

If you are even asking this question, it indicates you are not ready to be starting your own business. Don't even think about doing renovation work unless you are an experienced carpenter. You will rapidly go bankrupt because you will have to pay the people you hire, and your clients will not pay you because they are disatisfied in some way. Even minor screw-ups could lead to a client suing you. People don't like mistakes being made when it comes to their house. You could easily find yourself bankrupt AND in court paying a lawyer $400 an hour to defend you from lawsuits. Just one small claims case could cost $5,000 in legal fees. A trial case starts at $50,000 in fees and goes up from there. Stick to a business you understand.
