The first clue for me was I didn't know the person who sent the email. So how could someone with news that could help me know my email address. Your friends would not tell you to email everyone you know with this information. This is different from the so called chain letters which instruct you to send to so many people. The most important thing on getting an unknown email, do not open it, if you do, do not click on any link in the email and never give them personal information. And last, I would never forward an email to my friends or family from someone I did not know. Hope this helps.

This is a fake, a kid simply sent a message seeing how far it gets. Trust me, it's fake.

If you think everyone is lying about this then do what you want. It's your computer.
