I mean, since the beginning of history, every culture has glorified warfare and made battling each other something majestic. Why do you think humans do this?

Because it is in our nature.
Humans have been a destroying type of race since the first years of our existance.
all that fighting against other humans for survival, animals for food and even nature has been integrated into our essence and satisfies this underlying urge for war.

You need people to accept war, either during, or so they can move on after. So you speak of the valiant heros, and the glorious victories. Also, I think the glorification of the war heros themselves has been mistaken for glorifying war.

I don't see any problems with glorifying the soldiers that fought bravely and well. The efforts and hardships of these people should be recognized. But you'll notice that the greatest heros usually say they were "just doing my job" or will point to their fallen comrades as the true heros. As long as you don't seek glory, you can earn it without being a monster.
