Pageants are often won in the interview and can make up to 60 percent of the scoring. You’re facing judges firing questions at you ranging from politics to current events, so read newspapers and magazines.
Brainstorm tough questions and practice with friends acting as judges on mock panels; these practice sessions will test your intelligence, poise and humane qualities.
As for talent, being entertaining and showing your personality are more important than having the best technical skills. So yes, beauty matters but in the end it will get you only so far, treat it like a tough job interview and present yourself favorably.
Should you win be generous in giving credit to those who helped made it possible and especially to the sponsors for holding the event.
