I am assuming your family is the stereotype of the father goes out to work and the baby stays home with mommy. Well, you wouldn't have a place to live if he didn't make the money. Think of it this way. That seems pretty balanced. You both are doing important things.
The only way to fix the problem is to make it clear that gender stereotypes are something you hate by always standing your ground... if this doesn't work, you may as well dump him if you hate him that much.
Before you get offended, remember I'm just saying. Give more info. Also, I am not against women (geez).
EDIT: Owen E, I never said it was OK for the husband to never take care of the child. I agree that it should be a split responsibility, but I'm simply clearing up the idea that the husband is a lazy fatass who does nothing. I'm just sayin'.

Tell him that having a baby is a parent duty not just the moms if he didn't want kids then he should have kept it wrapped up.
The baby is here now and it is his responsibility to help raise the child and pay the bills and marriage is 50/50 union. Tell him you have no problem helping pay some of the bills just as soon as he starts helping raise your child. Some guys just live in the dark ages men goes to work and the women raises the baby tell him you live in the 21st century and women go out of the house to work just as much as men and for him to stop being so sexist. Just because he brings home the bacon does not left him off the hook to helping raise his kid.
Consider some counselling there could be a deeper reason he is not helping with the baby get to the bottom of this NOW!
Good Luck and God Bless!

Yes, leave him with the baby while you go to work. You know, nights and weekends, times when he normally is home. That way he has to help with the baby and experience a little of what you go through all day, everyday, and you make a little extra money for yourself.

cut back on as much of the frills you can around the house...show him that you can live without the cable and such.
youre needed at home. your baby needs you. do what you can to cut expenses and show him how it can be done.
no you shouldnt leave him for that! but if you dont do as he says regardless of your income and expense plan...he may leave you because he's a jerk. good luck.

Insufficient data for a good reply, but offhand, it sounds like you might be doing him a favor by leaving.

Tell him that and if he doesn't take well to it then I suggest you pack and leave. If he wants you to do it on your own then show him you can!!!

What a deadbeat. Totally irresponsible. If he didn't want kids then he should have worn a rubber.
