Unfortunately, humankind will never achieve world peace because there will always be too many weak, selfish, greedy, competitive, prideful and fallible beings.
Also, we humans are too often led by our irrational, unsteady emotions instead of listening to the voice of our intellect.

No. I do not believe so because civilization has been at war since the beginning of time and this will continue. In fact, I believe it will escalate at some point since there are nuclear weapons. Add into the mix that Islamic people are willing to blow themselves up to kill infidels and you have worldwide suicide on your hands. Sorry for the pessimism, but I see no way this will work out for the good and wars will end.

No which I hate to say, but the world will never achieve that because the world is full of greed. Everyone wants to be the lead or the best. America has already showed that.... no offense.

I think world peace would equate with world dictatorship.
there are a few corners of the globe that simply won´t be pacified without a strong autocratic government.
As and example I think of Iraq. It was a reasonable pacified country under Saddam, now it´s plunged into never ending chaos.

no! not ever. there is no such thing as peace here on earth. Peace is reserved in Heaven.
more to that, as long as there is a concept of "self" there wouldn't be peace. As long as you think of yourself as an individual, you're just continually creating an imaginary barrier between you and other people and you wouldn't stop finding things that will gratify "yourself". the same goes true to each individual, and so your wants, needs and likes will clash... and never will there be peace!

No. I think the number of wars will increase. Supplies of natural resources, such as oil, are running low and will eventually disappear. Countires will fight with each other over these resources. I think we are currently in a peaceful time compared to what we will see in the future.

No, since there will always be opposing views which would never get resolved. For example, the Palestinians and the Israelis have been in conflict since, i don't know, the creation of the Bible? There are some things that just won't get settled.

i think of that peace will proceed between the democracies of the international, as will commerce and financial growth. As our economies strengthen so will our potential to decrease poverty and furnish actual justice for our voters. China is the actual wild card on the table: as they strengthen will they include political reforms or a minimum of proceed to be stable and non-expansionist? If China will become a democracy then i think of the possibilities for international peace and prosperity are very sturdy. Democracy isn't continuously equatable with justice -- whether it particularly is our maximum suitable shot.

Most humans are perfectly willing to live in peace. If the governments and religions would stop creating excuses for war most people would have no reason to fight. It is not the people who want to fight, its their leadership (Yes, I use the term leadership very loosely)
