We have dated off and on for 6 years. We were living together and broke up . We no longer live together. HE said I care about you and love you, but he wants to take it slow and see where we end up.

wut he is trying to say is that he loves u soooo much that he wants to make things right this time around. he doesnt want to make the same mistakes that he made the first time in your relationship. so jus see where u guys end up. dont be afraid to try something new maybe this time u guys should jus go wit the flow that way u can have a relationship that allows u guys to be open. *GOD BLESS*

It means exactly what it sounds like. He doesn't want to jump back into the relationship with you because obviously it ended badly if you broke up. Why would he want to jump back into the situation that hurt him the first time? Give him time and try to fix whatever it was that caused the original breakup. Good Luck!

Taking it slow doesn't really make sense when you've already passed the finished line. You've already lived together and subsequently separated. He sounds wishy-washy: doesn't want to live with you, doesn't want to live without you.
