AT&T homezone?

My question is: If a show comes out on regular T.V at 5:00 p.m does it come out on cable at like 1:00p.m
I'm asking because my friend said that her cable provider doesn't do that for her. It's just lik regular T.V only it has more channels like for example MTV and all of those.

no shows come on and some are different than the shows you see
