Even though they DID consider this when the time changes were first implemented, this NEW time change is a result of all the hype over conserving energy. Conserving energy is always good,.. BUT sometimes when the political landscape is affected by the outcry do do so, changes are made with all of us having to pay some price for the action,.. and yes,.. even little school kids waiting at the bus stop in the dark.

Excellent observation!

That was the same problem we had in the seventies when they decided to do the same thing, during the energy crisis. Nixon smartened up and repealed the law. It didn't work then because we used more electricity in the morning. And I don't think it will work now.

The government never thinks that rationally. My poor kids are gonna be in pitch dark now waiting on the bus.

Apparently not. But it would be easy for the schools to adjust there start times to take care of that issue. Why don't they?

What I'd like to know is why they rob us of sleep and not put the clocks an hour ahead while we're at work?
