We are having an unformal wedding and my dress is ivory, what should he wear to match that? He doesn't want to wear a full suit, what color pants, shirt, tie would go with it?

He can wear any color with ivory/white. Navy blazer and white pants are nice for summer or Navy blazer and khaki pants.

Well, since your dress is ivory, anything goes with it. I would think that the most appropriate colors to match it would be black and white, but I'm sure that if he doesn't want to wear a full suit, he probably doesn't want to wear black and white either.

I think the best thing for him to wear, since it is an informal wedding, would be something like a grey vest with grey pants and a black or white shirt, with a black tie. Maybe even a white shirt and a blue tie. Another good outfit might be blue pants and a blue vest (like navy, I mean), with a white shirt and a blue tie.

I hope this was helpful.

Whatever he wears, it shouldn't be a white dress shirt! You'll look dingy in ivory next to him. His shirt should either match your ivory or complement it. It could be a color that goes with the other colors you plan to have in your wedding. ( I assume you plan to have other colors besides ivory). Ivory is soft color, so your man should not dress in any color that is too harsh, such as black. His pants, for example could be a soft navy or charcoal.

i dont think you have to necessrily match each other, you are not an accessory, nor is he
i would choose a black pair of pants and a neutral colour shirt like choc brown and go with no tie and leave top button open for a more casuallook, and it looks a bit sexy too
any way have fun

He could wear black slacks, ivory shirt, a black vest (less formal than a jacket), a tie in a warm or bright color (purple, red, blue).
