Also, I thought CINGULAR bought AT&T .. what happened ??

Cingular and AT&T Wireless merged years ago. More recently AT&T and SBC merged and kept the name AT&T. Cingular was part of SBC. Now they want the name to be universal throughout the company so they are changing the name back to AT&T. That's it. It's just a name change. Nothing else.

For Cingular customers there will be little difference.
The logos will change over the next few months.
Next time you get a Cingular phone you will probably see a silly lowercase at&t logo on it too....

they own you and your cell phone now...u and ur cell phone both are affected :P
