i was a habitual nail biter until i got a manicure for a friends wedding. after having them neat it made me conscious of not wanting to wreck them by biting. after that i did a mini manicure and it broke the habit. i did a natural nail manicure not fake nails.
fake nails will cure the problem but they are expensive to upkeep and will destroy the natural nail underneath. so in the long run your nails will look worse. just get the nice tidy and painted a way you like.
i also carry clippers in my purse so that if a nail tears or gets long-ish i can clip it asap before i try and bite it to "groom" it.

Stop biting your nails by getting a new habit. Have something o munch on like carrots or candy to distract to whenever you start nawing =D

lol i have the same problem, if im nervous i bite, if im thinking about something i bite, lol i dont know how to stop it other than putting some kind of nail polish or cream that tastes awful.

Get fake nails you wont want to ruin them by chewing on them

they make this type of clear fingernail polish that makes ur nails taste REALLY nasty. i seen it on this TV show once. it will taste so bad that u will not want to 'eat' ur nails ne more. i think u can get it at sally beauty supply....

go to a salon it will get your mind of thins,pluss you`ll have great nails!!!
