Myspace isn't bad at all. It's basically a way of staying connected with friends and family and in some cases, reestablish connections with friends you've lost in the past. I've found many classmates on there from high school whom I have not talked with since graduation and now we hang out.
Yes sometimes you get your immature people on there who just want to have 10000 friends of which 95% they do not know. That is there insecurity problem not yours so do not worry about it.
You get to hear new music from bands and watch trailers from upcoming movies and even watch TV shows from different stations. Whenever I miss an episode of 24, I go to the Fox myspace page and watch the episode that I missed of 24.
The whole sexual predator part, Myspace is the leader in my opinion for protecting children online. They are setting many precedents when it comes to making sure children are safe online. You will never have a 100% full-proof child safe environment, but they are doing a great job.

I don't really know what to think about myspace. I signed up after reading so many questions about it here in yahoo answers. Still don't know what it's about.
I can't tell the difference between mayspace and yahoo which seems to offer a lot more. Even Friendster is better coz' you have a clear view of what services they offer.
From this, I conclude that myspace is bad. Badly designed application, badly designed graphically, and did I say that it was badly designed? I give it a 6 out of 10.

The world is filled with perverse people, if I were you I'd be tight with my personal information. I however am a pervert myself, having a weak spot isnt fun and others may want to get over you so be careful

i don't believe that it is bad. you choose who you become friends with or not. if you are afraid of online predators, you have the option to make your page private and to reject the friend requests for ppl u dont know... i dont like when ppl say that myspace is dangerous, cause it is only dangerous if you choose it to be that way....
anyways, i love myspace!!! lol

I can't stand the site - from a design point of view it's dreadful, I've no idea why it does well.

You can set your profile to private so only your friend's can see your whole profile. If you do it that way, there is nothing wrong with it.
