About two years ago I purchased a fairly expensive (for me) suit jacket. I've worn it once or twice, but the remainder of the time it's been in my closet on a cedar hanger. I just noticed 3 or 4 small holes in the jacket which are 2-3mm each. The holes are on the back shoulder portion of the jacket. I think moths may be the guilty parties, but that doesn't really matter at this point. Is there anything that can be done to repair the jacket, or is it a loss?

take it to a good tailor - sometimes they can mend the areas, especially if they are small. They just take threads from seams and use them so that it matches

Not much can be done about the actual holes. The focus is on keeping them from enlarging. Best way is to open the lining up and place a small iron-on bit of interfacing underneath the hole and then steam iron if the garment will take it. This will at least stabilize the breach in the fabric. If the holes are small enough, and the fabric has pattern or texture, no one will know but you. If the fabric is smooth and even, you may be out of luck.....

Oh, that is really too bad. There are places that can repair the holes almost invisibly -- in fact, it's called invisible mending. Ask at a tailor shop; if they don't do it, they will probably know someone who does. They take threads from a hidden part of the garment and weave them into the damaged area.

Save it for Halloween and dress as a hobo, or just throw the old rag away. Nothing more low class than wearing something flashy (politically correct for GAY) that has patches all over it..

No! I am sorry but your coat is a total loss.
