Morals and ethics are a PERSONAL thing and as such if you don't believe that love spells are wrong then they are not to you, to other people however they do believe that love spells are immoral/unethical because they can affect 'free-will' – free-will in itself is not an absolute idea when it comes to morals and ethics.
There is nothing within Wicca to say it is wrong as Wicca has no dogma or 'sins', it is down to the individual to judge if it is 'right' or 'wrong' to cast a love spell, whether it is general or specific. Some Wicca teach the rede and law of return as a guide, normally to new initiates until which time they can better understand the consequences of their actions, they are not to restrict their behaviour.
Generally people are against the idea of love spells because they believe it interferes a person's free-will; however no one has true free-will, we are all affected by other people and our environment, but ultimately we are the ones who choose to act or think how we do and no one can really ever take that from a person.
Spell casting is not a covert form of mind-control, it is down to the ability of a witch to affect the world around them to their will, we all have a natural ability to use our will to affect the world in the things we do, witches simply take the time to study to use this more effectively and via different means.
Now take for example if I am attracted to someone; I will dress nicely, I will smile to put the idea into their heads that I am attracted to them. If that person notices me as a result of what I do, if this person is then attracted to me, I have affected their will but not in such a way that could be deemed immoral. Magic would simply be taking things that one step further, putting more intent behind the acts which a person does to attract love and going about things by a different means.
No one can erase a person's free-will, only affect it.
No matter how powerful a witch a person believes themselves to be.
The problem of morals and ethics here is not in the law of return (which for the most part is taken by the general population as a means of karmic retribution that has very little place in Wicca or magic practices in general), nor is it anything to do with free-will, it is to do with attitudes.
You say this is what spells are for, and THAT is a problem because it is not what spells are for, magic never is nor never will be a fix-all or quick-fix, and all magical practices are in praise of common sense and living life rather than using magic to avoid life's lessons. Love is the one area where magic tends not to be used because love is precious and outcome is determined by the individuals involved, magic will never replace life and love.
For your information there is nothing wrong with whores, nor is there anything manipulative about dressing like a whore – out of interest have you ever met a whore?

You're right that the 3-fold law is not used by all faiths. Personally, I don't even see it as the real issue here. It's what you're doing to someone else that matters.
Dressing seductively may be manipulative, but it's not manipulating someone's will as a love spell does. I guess the real question is, do you really want someone who only wants you because of a spell? Maybe they would have come to you on their own, but if you believe in the power of your spell, you'll never really know why they're with you.
It's your decision what to do. It sounds as if you already know what people have against the spells, and you're angry at them for their reasons. I personally think it's very wrong to try and control someone's mind, but if you've told yourself you have the right to do that to someone you profess to love, I'm not sure how anyone can convince you otherwise.

You say (correctly in my view) that dressing like a whore is manipulative. Too much make-up is manipulative. Basically, trying anything other than being yourself is manipulative.
True love spells are not manipulative! A real spell uses universal energy, and that can only work if the result is in harmony with the universe. By definition, a genuine love spell cannot therefore be manipulative (see http://www.squidoo.com/real-love-spells/ for more about that).
As to why people are against them, that is simply because people fear what they do not understand, and most people don't understand magic, universal energy, or whatever you want to call it.
Wars are fought over lack of understanding, which creates fear, so it's no surprise that when the subject of magic is bought up, it arouses those same fearful suspicions, and people attack as a form of defense.
The important thing though, is that if you are happy with using spells, then why worry about what anyone else thinks?
Take care!

True, the 3-fold law is only in Wicca, or those who choose on an individual level to follow it.
There's really two different types of "love spells", and it's typically one specific type that people are the most vehement in standing against.
A general, non-directed "I'd like to find a love" spell isn't too bad - and is, as you correctly pointed out, much like dressing in a particular manner, wearing makeup, going to bars, etc. Altering yourself to make you seem more attractive.
The second type is targetted - "Please make Johnny love me, oh I love him soooooo much!" That's where you start getting into trouble, because you start playing with someone's free will. If you want to win a particular person over, do so via mundane means. Forcing someone to do something via magic is no different than using physical violence to do something - and that's not the sort of thing to build any sort of relationship on, no matter what your religion.

Wicca is a religion with a code of ethics. If you want to practice sorcery, look into chaos magick or witchcraft without the theology baggage. People like to imagine that spells influence or control a target. This may be the case for very advanced shamans and sorcerers who have really mastered the potentials of consciousness and energy. For most practitioners, the primary target of spells is really themselves. The spell causes changes in them that in turn has an influence on their circumstances and interactions. Sometimes they get the desired result, sometimes not. Bottom line, you can swat but you can''t force another's will.

Believe what you want. No one can stop you. Don't go grovelling to anyone who warned you when something bad does happen, and it will if you keep up the attitude you have.
Btw, if you did any research whatsoever, you'd know that Paganism covers any belief system that is not Christian, Jewish or Muslim, so Voodoo (Vodun as you call it) and Santeria are both included in Paganism. There does exist a 3 fold law (aka karma) that is not restricted to Wicca only.

That whole 3 fold idea is a crock. It only applies to people that can't get past the ridiculous principles that society tries to foist on us. Even among Wiccans and Pagans not all take that to mean anythng. As long as it works...use it. I do them for people all the time as part of how I make my living. I more of them were used...ther would be considerabley less lonely people in the world, considerably less of a lot of things.

Don't slash Wiccan/Pagan together. There's a 3-fold law in Wicca, the majority of Pagan religions have completely different rules that have no resemblance whatsoever to the Wiccan ones.
Just wanted to clear that up.
