...I never was a fan of anime, but I happened to watch this show - and - immediately became hooked. Anyone else like this show? Also, is this show considered anime (it doesn't have the typical, overly-busy look of other anime programs)?

yeah this is a really cool show toph is like my fav character but i wouldn't consider it anime

You have a great taste.I loved the show and watched it until i stopped getting Nickleodon on my television.This cartoon has been made by an american company but it looks like an anime.The names are japanese but the obvious busy look of the usual anime is not there.So i guess you can call it an American Anime.
Can anyone tell me what happened after book-1?Please!

Avatar is not anime, though it is partially inspired by Oriental films the writers had seen - I am not sure where I read this, though.
Any way, Avatar is one of the greatest cartoons out there. For a Nickelodeon show, its writing is awesome. I just wish someone would announce the date for season 3.

I love Avatar the last air bender. I wouldn't say it's an anime though. It may look like one, but it doesn't have the characteristics found in the Japanese anime. I think it's the best cartoon ever.

This is not anime. Although it is a good show it was made by nickelodeon which obviously is an American animation company. I don't know how you don't like anime but you like avatar.......that's a little awkward.

Yea Avatar is a really good American show. i don't think its an anime but the names are either Japanese or Chinese(I'm not really sure) i like Toph and Sokka, there cute together and the funniest

i know what you maen my girlfriend hates anime i mean really hates it but all she does is watch Avatar: The Last Airbender so i thought she lost it but others are the same way :??
