Can I still live on campus. The college gives need based scholarships and I am froma low income family. I cannot afford to live off campus because scholarship will only pay for me to live in the dorms. I know that I will never be able to afford a home/apartment in New York. Answers plaese. Tell me if i need to elaborate.

Sucha,

Calm down. Enjoy the dorms for the next few years. Don't stress about your Junior or Senior years. They are a long way away.

Lots of things happen at school. The friends you make the people you meet. There will be opportunities to live with roomates off Campus while splitting the cost.

Many people own appartments in the Village and rent them out to students. (If you are not at NYU but rather uptown at Columbia then renting is even easier.) If you are to elaborate, then the school you are attending is a good place to start because then you can get advice by neighborhood.

Take my word, the years go by quickly. Do yourself a favor and don't start worrying about where you are going to live in 4 years. Soak in every moment now and have a wonderful time.

Good luck in September!

You dont have to live on campus. You have several options that are much cheaper. Living off-campus will definitely allow you to save more money. In New York, depending where you live and the school you attend, you can spend about $500-$800. Of course, you can't live in a Mannhattan high rise apartment because that's expensive. For off-campus housing, check out this website http://www.cribs4students.com. They allow you to post and search for free..

I live In LA and housing prices are pretty steep and I get no financial aid....

Maybe you should get a job in addition to whatever other income you will have or in my case rent a 1 bedroom house with 3 or 4 other roommates for $2000 a month to live in the best LA neighborhood

I merely have been given universal into NYU. that's across the international ranked as between the acceptable 20 perfect universities interior the international. It has greater going on then Columbia, and is greater distinctive. Columbia is 40% Asian substitute scholars, 40% minority acceptances in basic terms, 15% alumni. That leaves you with an extremely small %. yet I stay in Europe and Vermont, the two very distinctive than NYC. I spend numerous time in NYC in spite of the indisputable fact that, and that i'm able to assert that's outstanding (no longer a place i might stay continually) yet for the school existence-form its appropriate.
