I don't mean to step on toes here and no i have never stolen someone's bank card...I am asking these questions simply because I'm trying to find out if someone is trying to scam me. The person is currently in Nigeria, but lives in the US and is telling me that inorder for him to access his acct., he would have to use his thumb print. All I wanted to know was whether it was true or not. I have never heard of it before now. I don't have to scan my thumb print to access my accts. He is wanting me to send him money so he will be able to board the plane over there to return here to the US. Perhaps I didn't word my question properly. To Faye H...am truly sorry for repeating my questions, but I'm merely trying to protect myself and thought someone might understand what I was getting at. Again, I apologize to all.

If what you are saying here is true, then I apologize.

You are being scammed and I would NOT send anyone in Nigeria $1500.

First of all, think about it. He's telling you that in order to access his account, he has to give his thumb print??? All I have to do to access mine is go on line, log in with my password and voila. Instant money. Secondly, I can be damn near anywhere in the world and make a phone call to my bank, give them my personal information, which presumably only I know, and they will wire transfer me money. I would have to fax them a copy of my ID and my signature but it's not all that difficult to do.

Again, I apologize. You sounded like YOU were trying to access a bank account here. From what you are saying now, it sounds like someone is scamming you.

Tell him to call his bank and they will wire transfer the money he needs. All he has to do is fax his ID and signature. Since he's telling you he's a U.S. resident (doubtful now), he presumably has his passport with him and hopefully the hotel he's staying at has a fax.

ALL NIGERIANS are dishonest scammers. They actually celebrate scammers in their pop culture. A pop song about scammers was popular there last year. Scamming is what 50% of the nations economy is based on. NEVER speak to a Nigerian. They are dirty liars.

If you have already sent him some money, just think of it as the price of a lesson learned. Do not send any more, or have any contact with them.

Nigerian's are notorious for scams. In fact, I just watched 20/20 and they had a special about a guy that they caught doing scams from Nigeria. Do not do it. For christ sakes, if it sounds too good to be true then it is. If you fall for something as retarded as this you deserve to lose every last cent you have.

hi,
this is a scam.... but one of many. anything or anyone asks for your personal information, credit card numbers, social security number...etc or asks you for money so they can give you a much larger amount of money, never fall for it.
stay safe.
