I am hoping that the left hand side of your equation is meant to read (2x-3)/(x-1)(x+2)....

then
using the rule 1/a + 1/b = (a+b)/ab the right hand side of the equation becomes
[a(x+2) + b(x-1)]/(x-1)(x+2)

now the bottom sides of both equations are the same and I'm not going to write them out anymore (or I'll be here all afternoon!)

The top of the equations now reads
2x-3 = a(x+2) + b(x-1)
=ax+2a+bx-b
=(a+b)x + (2a - b)

so now you can see 2 = (a+b) and (2a-b) = -3
These are now two simple simultaneous equations you can work out for yourself.

Good luck

2x - 3 / (x-1)(x+2) = a / x-1+b / x+2
2x - 3 / x^2 + 2x - x - 2 = a / (x-1+b)(x+2)
2x - 3 / x^2 + 2x - x - 2 = a / (x^2 + 2x - x - 2 + bx + 2b)

Compare
2x - 3 with a
x^2 + 2x - x - 2 with x^2 + 2x - x - 2 + bx + 2b

a = 2x - 3
b = 0

2X-3/(x-1)(x+2)=A/x-1+B/x+2
2x-3/(x-1)(x+2) - (B/(x + 2) = A/x - 1
2x - 3 - B(x - 1) = A(x + 2)

2x - 3 - B(x - 1)
--------------------- = A
(x + 2)

2x - 3 - A(x + 2)
--------------------- = B
(x - 1)

wish i could help you out but that is one hard problem...btw, you are never going to use this is real life (unless you are some type of engineer) so don't worry to much about learning it
