A female friend of mine I guess you could say an ex that hurt me in the past but I have remained friends with recently started making more of an effort to try to be more like friends. She has been in & out of relationships & even then talked about missing me & wanting to hangout but claiming to be busy. Then she got hit with a wave of bad things & started rethinking her life I guess & decided to lose the live in bf & again try & reconnect. She went so far as to say that she was sorry for not having been there for me like she should have been & that things would be different now. This was before I even knew that the live in bf was on the out. I mentioned how I missed my buddies to which she asked if I meant her or my old friend which is how she hurt me in the past. I said I meant her & the kids (neither are mine) just trying to be politically correct since, I didnt know she was about to be single again. She started the convo asking if I was single which people do I know just weird.

Yes i do still have feelings for her but I'm more then happy just being friends & never been one to just assume anything but still I dont want to make things weird as sadly happens even though it shouldnt after 14 years as friends but still she can often be confusing as to one minute acting like she would be open even hoping for more yet other times that we're just friends or penpals & then go other times as if she doesnt even know me.

Sounds like she's taking advantage of a really good friend and feels as if your always gonna be there so she's not worried about anything. But i would prove here wrong and stay away and not even bother for a while so she can see what kind of friend she really had. It just sounds like she's just taking advantage of what seems to be a very good man that she obviously couldn't pick out if it was branded on his forehead.
