I saw one at Target that was a changing table and a crib in one plus it transitioned into a bed as the child gets older, and the changing table turns into a side table. I really liked it, but it was Target, and I've noticed their furniture doesn't last a long time, so I was wondering where I could find one like that but better quality... like somewhere in the $500 range. Thanks!!

We got ours through the JC Penney Catalog. They are two separate pieces, but high quality hard wood. The crib converts to about a billion different things--eventually ending up at a full size bed. The changing table is also a dresser, and you can buy a hutch to go on top (for bookcase type shelving) when you are done using it as a changing table. The crib (3.5 years ago) cost just under $300, the dresser was $200, and the hutch is $100.

Pottery Barn Kids! I'm not sure about the changing table aspect but they've got the cribs that change and transition into beds and they are wonderful! We've got one crib from there that wasn't a transition crib and its lasted our family through 3 babies. We just found out we are expecting baby #4 and I know it will be great for him/her as well!

They are a little higher than $500 but I highly recommend them! You could also check out The Land of Nod:

You might try calling around to your local furniture stores and see if they have what you're looking for :)
They might be willing to work with you even more on the price if you keep a list of who has what, and at what price. Then you let company "A" know that company "B" will sell it to you for cheaper.. etc- you might get a really good deal :)
