I have a 99 mustang convertable and a cb radio does any one have any good ideas as to where to mount it? I know it should be mounted on glass and not the front windshield but all the rest of the glass goes down and into the car so those will not work. I was thinking down under the car like behind a front or rear bumper but will that work? Any other ideas as to where to put it would where it will work?

I do not want to mount it on the body of the car as i plan to show it in car shows and afraid that will mess up the look of the car.

Try this: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/StoreCatalogDisplay/c-10114/s-10101
They used to sell an antenna that had a splitter so you could receive radio and CB signals simultaneously without a secondary antenna. It simply installs in place of your existing radio antenna.

You should be able to mount it to the windshield with no problems.
If you mount it hidden behind something, it will not transmit or receive very well, reducing the distance you can talk to others considerably.
The best place would probably be to mount it to the trunk lid with a trunk mount antenna.
You could also use a magnetic based antenna to attach it to the trunk. It will not be permanent, and won't leave any holes or indentions from the mount, but it can scratch the paint and the reception still isn't as good as a standard mount.
A trunk mount antenna (antenna and mount) can be purchased for as little as about $15, and go up to well over $100 for very good models.
The advantage to the glass mount over a standard mount is you don't have a large obvious antenna sticking off your car, just a smaller more discreet window antenna that is slightly larger than most cell phone antennas.

the perfect antennas are those that are the longest. yet you won't be able to continuously mount the longest antennas so a compromise is the subsequent perfect issue. a reliable magnetic mount is the subsequent perfect decision. As some distance window mounts flow they are going to artwork yet at a decrease aspect. there is an antennas stated as the ok-40 it truly is an particularly reliable antenna and is truly well worth the money reliable luck!

Depends how tall the antenna is. If you go through drive thru's frequently, you do not want it to hit drive thru structure as it could over time eventually weaken it. Beings it is on a mustang convertible, Probably on the trunk areas, but not on the trunk, rather the areas directly to the left or right of the trunk.
