They don't. They call them Mami and Papi. It's a term of endearment, do your parents ever call you honey? Honey is bee vomit. That's pretty weird if you think about it.

b/c the children grow up real fast..They teach the girls how to cater to men....and it starts with papi (if u know what I mean)

my parents call my sister "mama" but they dont call me or my brother papa. i dunno why they do it.
