Ecuador has snow because its mountains are 20,000 feet. Jamaica's Blue Mountains are too low in elevation to ever receive snow.

Jamaica blue Mountains stand at a high peak of over 2256m or 7402 ft,in summer average temps are about 15degrees Celsius or mid 50s F in winter temps can drop below 10 C,or low 50 F and high 40s lowest temp recorded was 4 degrees Celsius, frost does occur so if your planing a trip were a sweater or warm clothing, some homes high up there even have fire places so as to keep the cold out.
Average temps in Kingston,summer 32 C or 90 F ,in winter 29 C,or 89 F,remember for every 300 ft you drop 1 C.
That's why they have the best coffee(Blue Mountain coffee).
These Mountains supports a wide variety of vegetation, from tropical moist forest to subtropical to temp rate forest, average rain fall can exceed 300 inches a year.

countries at the equator having varing weather, than those on the equator.
i am from Jamaica and it doesn't snow there ever because it is hot all year round. if the temp did change and got cooler, because it is a mountain peak, it might, might, get some snow. but at this point no. there are also many south american countries which are below the equator and they have snow during july [the summer].
