Zealous belief in their goals, and hatred by the far right. Dislike of what most of the world is doing. They'd probably both make good film villains, but the radical ecologist movies wouldn't do as well at the box office (Leonard Part VI). They have the potential to both be technophobes.

I think both have, in common, practiced conservatism since they view the world as the place or the people that should not change dramatically, rather they innovate and preach to reserve our Mother Earth and to assure religious followers to retain the status quo, especially in the fast-changing world of globalization nowadays.
