You need to ask yourself some questions before you decide on what shelves to buy:

1. Do you want freestanding shelves or built-in shelving?
2. Do you know what material you want the shelves to be made from? You have many options for display shelves including glass, wood and acrylic shelves, each of which has its own character and advantages.
3. How many shelves do you need? You may prefer to have a combination of shelving styles, say, wood and glass, depending on what type of gifts you want to display.
4. Do the shelves need to be especially strong or not? If you like glass shelves, for instance, know that they are not usually designed to accommodate heavy items. Match your shelving material to the weight of the gifts you want to display.

If you want a good jumping off point, go to http://www.home-shelving-guide.com/display-shelves.html. At the bottom of that page there are links to pages about wood, glass and acrylic display shelves. Each of those pages has some suggestions about what makes good display shelves and where to get them.

The same site also has a section on building your own shelves - which isn't hard to do, even for beginners. It can be a cheaper option if you are really stuck for cash.

Good luck with your shop.
