Four more harbor commands I know of in Italy. Being from
France shipping is a large industry. Being in Italian waters
across the harbor I have 3 very strict rules to mention.
1. Drawing scuba, treasure, material, mineral removal.
This drawing law is known as the ancient artifacts and is
not a typical issue. Usually a reputable person can get and
find approving clubs to remove some old artifacts, treasure,
resources especially outside of harbor master areas, though they do have lists posted per harbor master. For instance no diving for gold is allowed near capris for 150 miles.
2. Specific resources for military uses is forbidden. No
bullets, canons, replacement, or museum piece work is
allowed, according to Euro harbor master for other nations
or international trade activities. Permission is allowed in
once again active harbor interested, this list is known as the
Roman properties of Italy companies.
3. Arts, outside of photography that is recently cleared by
the Olympian World United Nations services for Italy one
should not take native, nature, resource, rareties, or valuables into ones possession for hand painting, removal, or
sculpting and molding copy of Italian design. This is the most specific study and involves Intellectual property sales to
licensed resort developers in favor of Conservation Italy.
Again except for photography Italy governors is not interested in arts for sale at liege, in resource, or nature due to the interest within Europe of traditional upgrades for Italy.
Finally the use of boats in Italy has some other national requirements that keep the intellectual properties already sold
to shipping clubs that provide the local services. There is a
temporary boat license, and a club membership option from
France, Sicily, Greece, and Italy for resort sports.

This is a link to the major ports in Italy. There are phone numbers and email addys for the harbor masters of each port. The best thing to do is call them and ask about visting thier ports and what the harbor rules. You should be set with an US issued license and there shouldnt be problem. But with all things its best to check in with the harbor master so you dont do somthing silly.

Its is always best to hire a local "pilot" to bring large vessels into forien ports. As long as you are 12 nautical miles from land you are international waters and any license is fine. You wont enter Italian waters till you cross 12 miles from land and just call the harbor master and you will be set.
