No, there is no law that says her name has to be on the house. However, Texas is a community property state. That means if they ever divorce, she will be entitled to one-half of the value of the house. Some people try to claim that the house is not a marital asset by only putting one of their names on the deed. This does not work in a community property state.

There’s no federal law requiring this and I doubt there is a state law--I could be wrong because I don’t know Texas state law in this regard, but MANY states allow only one spouse to be listed on a deed/mortgage.
But, even if his name is on the only one on the deed, if it’s determined to be marital property (purchased during the marriage using martial funds), she’s still entitled to half.

In Texas if you are married when you buy the house, yes, both names must be on the deed. I know I bought a house in Tx. However, if they were not married before they bought the house, then it can be only his name. I am not 100% sure on how it works if you already bought the house and got married afterwards, but I don't think you have to change it then.

Community property that a couple acquires during the marriage is shared. It may have his name on the deed but she is half owner of the property.

you desire a legal professional. yet, if the deed has her call on it, and he or she remains residing, i think of the domicile keeps to be along with her. while she dies, you and the daughter get it then. That different legal professional sounds a sprint unscrupulous.
