well,
i'd say this is the most common thing one faces in life.
but if you feel that there could have been a reason behind it
then you better talk to your friend once to clear out things.
But if you feel that your so called friend is not worth a
second chance , then just try to forget it. I know it's hard to
forget someone like a friend but that is how life goes.
we have to take it the way it comes.
But if you have the guts to fight life and make it your way
then I'd suggest you go ahead and do it .
good luck.
hope you get a good friend soon.

Hmm... I would need more detail on your situation to give a more accurate answer, but I'll try my best.
It really depends on the friend. Have they broken your trust before? If so, you shouldn't completely block them out of your life, just stay away from them a bit more. You should surround yourself with people who you can rely on... friendship is a two-sided relationship... there must be trust, compassion, and understanding coming from both people.
If your friend is usually nice and this is the first time they have done something like this, then you might want to try and let it go. We're all human, and we make mistakes... sometimes we say things, and they get twisted into huge, nasty rumors, or sometimes one action can be interpreted the wrong way. If your friend genuinely regrets their actions, you should accept them back.
Good luck with your friendship... trust is always such a hard issue to deal with. :)

If a friend broke my trust i wouldn't totally disown them, depending on how long we've known eachother. But they would definitely have to win my trust back before i would confide in them again

make sure they try to gain your trust back and see if the will keep any secrets. like tell them a fake secret to see if they keep it. if they do i think they will earn your trust back.

Let them know that its messed up and that if they do it again, the friendship isnt going to go anywhere but downhill.

Dump him/her.
That's a gut reaction. More detail is needed to answer properly.
