you can do a disc image and transfer it. Also, XP includes a utility called the file and settings transfer wizard (start > accessories > system tools) that should work for you as well.

XP is licensed by registering against the hardware... so it won't work if you transfer it without re-registering it... which voids the license of your original computer. So if you run both you will have an illegal copy.

But if that's what you want to do...

You can't do it by making a CD.

What you can do is put the disk from your other computer into the XP one (as a slave on the IDE bus or as master on the other) and use disk duplication softwrae to make an exact copy. Partition Magic (commercial software) or Ranish Partition Manager will work for this... as will others. If your disk is NTFS you have a smaller choice as NTFS is less well supported than FAT.

Then you'll have 2 'identical' copies of the disk. Do NOT boot either of them in a computer with both in as they may get confused about swap space if you do. Put the 'other'computer's disk back as it was, boot it up and it should run up as XP. And require registration.

Oh, if your two computers have different video adapters, turn your original XP machine to VGA resolution before copying it and back to it's proper resolution after copying it. that way you wont get a useless video resolution on your 'other' machine when it runs XP first time.

I'm not sure but there are some new programs to transfer data, but if you want to put your OS on another PC, you could use your CD recovery usually when you buy your PC they give you a CD Recovery then you would have to contact Microsoft to validate your copy of windows xp. If you don't have a recover CD you could order one with your computer manufacture or easier tell a friend to borrow it and then use your serial number.

That's not possible. In any way.
