Once you get your site up you need to build inbound links.
Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index. Here are three of my favorites:

The more inbound links to your site, the better you will rank
with Yahoo / Google / MSN.

if you are looking for Free Submissions than it's fine, but don't think that will come up in Yahoo & Google. For that you have be in Expert. Paid Submission Can only do better on Search Engines. Otherwise Go For an Expert Like - SEO TRENDS (INDIA)

You should not manually submit your website in Search engines.....

let them find it themsleves................

You can make your website easily found by doing link building, article submissions and directory submissions.............more the link s you have better are your chances of being indexed.................

you need backlinks to appear in the search engine results.
