Mine is in the center of my upper left arm. Funny, as a kid I was the only one without one. Felt left out. Remember being glad when my mother told me she was taking me to the clinic to get my smallpox vaccination. When the nurse vaccinated me she made my scar bigger and more noticeable than everyone elses. I have been very self conscience of it (and attuned to others) ever since.
Sylvia, do you have a large scar which stands out on your arm?

I don't see my scar anymore. I got mine about 50 years ago, on my left shoulder (they would vaccinate on the arm that you do not write with). When I had my vaccination, there was a bump for about 7 years. I could not wear any sleeveless blouses. When I had had this for about a year, my uncle from Arizona (I'm Illinois) said that his did the same thing and that it went away after 7 years. He told me not to worry. He just smiled and said I would be fine. He had told the truth, a person's cells are completely new in 7 years, according to my uncle and actual studies.

I always thought the vaccination scars on forearms were mainly on immigrants. I didn't realize that Americans also received the vaccination in the arm. Everyone I know in NYC got it in the thigh. It completely faded and I can't even find it now.

Mine is in my UPPER LEFT ARM
It is just slightly darker than my natural tone.
-----
Widespread vaccination had ceased by the late 1970's so many people have never been vaccinated,.. and therefore no scar. I believe that I was around 5 yrs. old, early sixties, when I was vaccinated,.. so I'd guess that just about anyone born after the mid to late sixties may be among those who have NOT been vaccinated.

I have no scar whatsoever---no reaction to the vaccine, nothing. Neither did my sister or brother--now THAT is weird!
