Me and my bf are planning on buying a home next year, we were looking into modular homes (NOT TRAILERS) these types of homes seem to kinda be put together rather fast but they look completely like a normal house and they seem to be beautiful an good priced, I know its along the lines of purchasing the home kit and then paying someone to put it together.

Anyone have a good website that list pros/cons and PRICING.

Thanks

My husband and I purchased a three bedroom,2 bathroom, living, dining and breakfast room,oh ya laundry room last May. It is a modular home.We absolutely love it.Depending who you buy from ,you should be able to pick out everything in it that you want from carpet to the color of the walls. Best thing we ever did. It's very low maintenance, easy to clean and not expensive to heat or cool. I don't know where you live ,but we purchases from West Grove Homes in West Grove,Pa.The company brings the home to the lot and does all the work.

Panelized homes are as good or better than stick built.

Imagine if you're building over the winter. If the house isn't protected right away and you get a big snow storm, the interior 2x4 is subject to warping causing your drywall to buckle.

Most modular homes have excellent designs.

You can check out Wausau Homes, they're one of the biggest modular home builders.

THE Modular homes are equal or better than the stick built houses the cost of stick built is $70.00 sq foot or more and the modular runs about $40. sq foot and is inspected by hud and state to meet all local codes and the home can be ready to move into a whole lot less time than a stick built and the stick built is not inspected by hud to meet all of their codes
