I need to get tickets for my daughter who is going to Switzerland alone. She is 12 years old and she is staying there for the summer vacation. I was wondering if a flight attendant will lead her because she is underaged or what. Can you also help me find cheap tickets. From Chicago to Zurich.

From ORD you would take Swiss , unless you want a cheaper flight with a connection.

'Unaccompanied Minor' (UM) is the term used for children aged between 5 and 12 who are not in the care of an adult. A ground agent accompanies these children from the check-in desk, through customs and up to the aircraft. They are then cared for on board by one of the flight attendants up to their destination airport, where a ground agent collects the children at the aircraft and escorts them through customs, bringing them to the designated person waiting for them.

This service costs CHF 50 in Switzerland, USD 45 from the USA and in other countries either EUR35 or USD30. All administrative charges are also included in this fee.

Your children are always in very good hands with SWISS, especially when they travel alone. For all children between the ages of 5 and 12 who are travelling without an adult we offer reliable care from check-in until they are met by a specially designated person upon arrival at their destination. This service is also available to young travellers up to the age of 18 if desired.

At the airport: Children travelling alone with SWISS are cared for from check-in until they are met by someone you have delegated at their arrival airport. Prior to your child’s departure, you are asked to assist with the completion of travel documents and to remain at the airport until their flight has actually taken off. Airport gate personnel will accompany children travelling without an adult from the check-in counter, through the security checks to their departure gate and then finally on board.
On board: At boarding, children are greeted by one of our flight attendants and shown their seat. During the flight, our flight attendants will look after the child’s needs and make sure they feel comfortable. A special children’s menu, a selection of toys and a highly varied inflight entertainment programme all help to make the time go by quickly.
On arrival: Our flight attendants help any children travelling alone to leave the aircraft upon arrival and bring them safely to a member of airport staff, who will accompany them through Customs, on into the arrivals area to be received by the person who you have designated to collect them. Please note that for security reasons, this person must be able to identify himself as the person you have designated.

Depends on the airports around you, and which airline you want her to fly. I find Virgin Atlantic the best airline to fly overseas...
Yes, you can set it up so a flight attendant stays with her the entire time.. She will be safe...
Call different airports, and search online for different airlines...
You'll find something...
