I have three teens-18F,17M&15M.

They seem to have this "no snitching" policy.

Regardless of situation.

It has led to many problems because they tried to figure their lifes problems together without benefit of parental influence.
It's so bad that now my 17 yr old is in prison.
How can I save my 15 year old from this harmful practice?

Some days I feel like I'm losing my mind!
I have tried to get them to see the problem ....but to no avail.
Any suggestions?

I work in a prison and sometimes people just go their own way no matter how wonderful their parents are. If you are confident that you are doing the best that you can then dont be so hard on yourself. You can only do what you can only do the rest is up to them. I am also the oldest of nine kids. Go to your oldest child she will know everything. They are asking her all of the questions. Most times my sibling did and still do ask me before they asked my mom. They wanted to get my advice on how she would answer.

Secrets in a family are the root of all evil.this is like you are only as sick as your secrets. You should be direct and explain the whole reason why you go to prison is usually some kind of dishonesty or lying going on.Why do things you are ashamed of.Do the next right thing and if someone needs help or a
confession let go of the responsibility of being hush, hush.
Because you are only being honest if asked a question. You can not go far on dishonesty,it will catch up with you.Seek Counseling for yourself and family before things get worse.
There are Christian Counseling Center,no cost.

I would just give them a choice, tell you the truth or get out.
Don't take me wrong but , you won't be around forever and if
they won't accept or fight any help you offer what's the point of even trying? I would just show them the door if they won't
cooperate.

I'm 24 and giving the choice to go to prison or snitch on someone I love. I would go to prison. And even if you snitch, when you go to prison that's what you are know as. I know you see it as a curse we see it as loyalty.
