Th light-blue colored-cover bound an approx. 8x11" or slightly larger collection of traditonal fairy tales including Thumbelina, Donkeyskin, Puss-in-Boots,Sleeping Beauty, others, and I think they may all have been illustated by the same man but unable to remember his name. I remember Puss-in-Boots had brilliant gems adorning his outfit. I would love to re-acquire this book but have no clue where to look. I was mesmerized by each engraving and thought how beautiful each would be framed individually. Anyone have any suggestions for me how to proceed?

It has everything you named except for Thumbelina. The story list is

The sleeping beauty in the wood -- Puss in boots -- Little Tom Thumb -- The fairies -- Ricky of the Tuft -- Cinderella -- Little Red Riding Hood -- Blue Beard -- The ridiculous wishes -- Donkey-skin -- Patient Griselda -- Beauty and the beast -- The friendly frog -- Princess Rosette.

It was published in 1961 and was illustrated by W. Heath Robinson -- here you can look at illustrations by him, and there's even one of Puss in Boots. http://www.surlalunefairytales.com/illustrations/illustrators/whrobinson.html

Not sure if this is what you're talking about but Readers Digest had a collection of "The Worlds Best Fairy Tales" in a light blue colored cover that included these tales. It was illustrated by Fritz Kredel.

check e-bay or amizon. At least then you can browse pictures of the covers quickly rather then go throught actual book stores.

Good luck
