Mechanic - I need your help in choosing a catalytic converter?

my choices are

DEC Part # VW3440A {Catalytic Converter: With Down Pipe
thru VIN # 1C-X-434 144 #1J0254505X}

or

DEC Part # VW3440 {Catalytic Converter: With Down Pipe
from VIN # 1C-X-436 511 #1J0254504SX}

How do I know which one I need

call dealership(any vw dealership) and ask the orginal vin# for the catalyti converter and cross reference with the ones you have listed! That should tell you 100%

Read your vin number yourself you can read it by looking through windsheild at the dashbad next to the window on the drivers side Write it down and take with you and you will get the right part.
