Volcanoes can be avoid but earthquakes can't.
But volcano can destroy all things near it by lava.
Earthquakes are dangerous when they are very powerful.

In my opinion, earthquakes are more dangerous, especially when cities are involved. Earthquakes can happen all over the world and have and bigger financial impact, while volcanoes only erupt in certain areas and don’t effect such a widespread area. Earthquakes kill thousands of people while volcanos kill yes but then it cools and hardens. Earthquakes happen all over the world no matter where it is plus it also has aftershocks that also be very dangerous. Earthquakes are more destructive as they are a more sudden natural hazard, where as many volcano eruptions happen at a slower pace. Volcanoes show obvious signs of stress before erupting, and this makes it fairly easy to get people away from the danger zone before the eruption. Earthquakes just… happen.

you would want to find a place that has earthquakes more often.... sounds stupid...but the less time=less pressure buildup=smaller earthquake
so find a place that has them often, usually near oceans b/c the water causes it to slip and not let tension build
volcanoes also have pyroclastic flows, which is a bunch of ash and rock and gas moving at hundreds of miles an hour. If your in the way of that, there is no escaping. You're done. I believe thats why every tree around St Helens was laid down all around it. Lava flows are not very dangerous as they are slow moving, and usually follow a same path every eruption through little rivers that have been created by earlier eruptions. But if they hit your house, it ain't gonna live. But a guy with a broken leg could outrun a lava flow, lol.

Earthquakes are far less predictable than volcanic eruptions. Volcanoes show obvious signs of stress before erupting (such as little earthquakes and deformation of the mountain itself), and this makes it fairly easy to get people away from the danger zone before the eruption. Not only that, but the area of land that is devestated by a large volcanic eruption is usually far less than the area that will be devistated by a large earthquake.
Earthquakes are unpredictable, random, and impossible to avoid. Comparitively, volcanoes are easier to avoid, easier to predict, and affect a much smaller area.
As mentioned before, far more people have been killed by earthquakes than by volcanoes.
If I had to choose - I'd rather live by an active volcano than live on an active fault.

Earthquakes are over relatively quickly while a volcano can erupt literally cubic miles of material and take weeks or months to subside. Me, I'd rather die fast than slowly by degrees to I'll stick to earthquake myself.

Earthquakes have killed more people than volcanoes. You can almost tell when a volcano is going to blow. Earthquakes are almost unpredictable and collapsing buildings crush and kill easier than lava flows and flaming rocks. Cracks me up when I see people crying about their new house was built too close to Mt. Kilauea in Hawaii and is now burning from lava flows. You can avoid lava, but hard to avoid 'quakes.

Well, I lived in California and I know for a fact that they now build a lot of buildings on rollers, that way when the earthquake hits, instead of literally "shaking" the building apart, the building "rolls" with the shock waves, it is actually pretty cool. So that is one point to make, that technology has allowed us to develop mechanisms to keep us safer during a earthquake.

nicely whilst the earthquakes stuff has a tendency to alter into loose and each now and then homes and what have you ever can cave in. The wave itself isn't what's so deadly whilst a tsunami hits inspite of the undeniable fact that it rather is the water that flashfloods in the back of it. human beings frequently die interior the events of organic failures because of the fact they ensue abruptly and in many circumstances with out any warning.

Well, Volcanoes are dangerous because they are really hot. Most people are not scared of ground shaking or falling, but most are scared of hot things. So, I prefer volcano.
