Seriously, I'm very surprised at the strong feelings associated with the new labels of "top contributor". It seems as though some people are so resentful, that they will not choose a top contributor's answer, even if it's the best one. Is my perception legitimate? I am really interested in hearing all of your responses. I find the whole situation somewhat intriguing. Besides being sick of the whole issue regarding "TC", what are your feelings?

It is rather embarrassing, really. It tells me I am here too often. In fact I should be erecting rectangles of data right now in preparation for distribution; but, here i sit with this big orange badge hunting and pecking.

I don't get it at all! First of all, I only spend about an hour a day on Q&A so I don't keep up with all the rumblings. What is everyone so upset about? My gosh, this isn't a job or a competition. It's a place to go and ask/answer questions, share your experiences and hopefully help someone. I think it's awfully childish that people are upset by anything on here really. I am not here to compete with anyone or to impress anyone. I am disabled so it helps me to communicate with people and get peoples opinions and points of view. I like to see what people are thinking. I also like being able to help people through the things I've learned. I'll gladly give this badge to whoever wants it because I don't care one way or the other.

Depends solely on the quality of the answer. I don't like labels of any kind and will not allow them to cloud my judgment.

It's a pretty button.. but.. I could care less. It just points out how much you're on more than say.. the regular answerer..

Dunno. People have been resenting anyone and everyone whom they feel are elite/superior since...well, forever. That's why there've been so many Revolutions, with a capital "R." Just ignore the fuss - some people will kick up a scuffle over anything.

Yes. I already avoided giving them "best answer" three times today. We all like the underdog. Would you give money to Bill Gates or Michael Jordan?
