I'm doing a speech on Mcdonalds and it's effect on globalisation. I have to focus on both it's bad and good points. I've found a load of information about it's bad points but can't find anything on good points. Help please!

You could talk about the familiarity of it. Even just seeing the golden arches brings a sense of recognition to most people throughout the world. There are, of course, pros and cons to this. But, you can think of the perpective of a world traveller who is in a foreign place and finds a sense of home when (s)he sees a McDonalds.

Also, be sure to mention how even though there are McDs all over the world, they do try to adapt their menus/image based on the local culture. Perhaps research the differences between McDonalds in the US and the ones abroad.

P.S. Check out this website, too http://www.globalpolicy.org/globaliz/charts/index.htm

As much as I don't like McD's I think we have to remember that no one forces anyone to eat anything, it's like saying dairy farmers are bad because if you eat too much butter yer ticker will give out. On the positive side McD's give alot of money for the Ronald house at the various kids hospitals so mums and dads can stay over with their very ill kids, the bloody government doesn't. Love it or hate it, it's a massive employer with some good ideas. (Subway rules o.k.)

You've answered your own question. There is nothing good about McDonalds.

Dirty restaurants, cheap rubbery processed food, false advertising (look at the pictures compared to the products), annoying flimsy plastic toys that encourage kids to pester for their Crappy Meals and a major contributor to littering. Not only that, responsible for the circulation of some really grotesque urban legends.

On the plus side, eating there is not compulsory...

I like their coffee, the Filet-O-Fish, and their fries. The Big Mac is good too. And their breakfast sandwiches are good.

McD's is handy and inexpensive. It's not something I'd live on every day, but it's easily found wherever I travel, and something I can count on tasting good. I guess you can call it 'comfort food'.

The ronald Mcdonald Foundation provides resources to families that are struck with terminal and life threatening medical crisis. They also provide shcolarships to people with financial hardships and they actually have a "hamburger university" dedicated to training their staff to be "better managers and better people."

i personally think their burgers taste like feet.

most people don't have a very long lunch break. McDonalds provide convient locations and pride themselves in offering quick service. They do serve salads, milk and juice. Really, it's all about convience and fast service. good luck.

It's cheap and good! Many people complain about how fatting it is! But if you get off your butt and work an 9-5 actively, you can eat what you want!

They have killer food. They try and weasel
out of all rules and regulations where change for healthier food is concerned. They still have not changed their frying oil and refuses to. They will and should go out of business because they don't care for peoples health.

there are no good points. mcdonalds is a sucky place that serves crap to the stupid people willing to eat it. all the fake stuff and perservatives in it makes them the worst food in the world. (and we wonder about obesity in our country!) i stopped eating there. ive been mcdonalds free for about 5 years now. so i think u shouldn't focus on the good and bad...but just how mcdonalds is killing our nation.
