trying to conceive for 6 years? took a hormone test and i dont understand it? please help? If someone knows about what the regular hormone levels should be please help me with mine i dont understand if they are ok. i know someone in here has tooken all these tests and knows i been trying to have a baby for awhile. here is my test results

LH - 0.5
FSH - 1.1
Progesterone 11.8
prolactin 15.8
testosterone 0.55
total estrogens 253.9

I took these tests on jan 26th .07 and had gotten my menstrual period that month on jan 5th and the next month on feb 3rd.07

I am sorry, we just moved so I cannot find my physiology books, but I can give you a general outline. First your doctor should have gone over this with you. It is pointless for them to test you for things and not explain the results. You should point that out to him or her. They can forget about the person behind the results sometimes. Okay sorry, now for the levels:
you had the test done around day 22 of your cycle. At this point my book tells me that you should have low LH and FSH hormones becaue those peak at ovulation and are not present unless you are ovulating currently. Your estrogens should have peaked right before ovulation and be slowly decreasing until right before ovulation again when they go up. your progesterone levels should be high. This website says that your prolactin levels should be between 30-600 miU/l, I am not sure what your units are so I am gave you relative levels in the hormones above. The website I link to below might better outline what the levels should be exactly. I wish you good luck and remember sex is fun, not a job.

You should really talk to a doctor and get him/her to explain all this to you. They can tell you why you are having a hard time getting pregnant and what to do about it.
