What is happening today with Kids? Just reading some of the questions, they can't even seem to type a complete proper sentence. I can understand talking and cutting words, but typing them too. Is it just me... maybe I'm a little too old fashioned.....?

I read this same question awhile back. A lot of the people stated they thought it was because so many people have cell phones, and shorten words while text messaging others. So the younger generation all having cell phones, don't bother completing sentences, or even phrase the sentences correctly any more. It's all about the shortest way to say what you want to say. I guess I'm old too, because I can't imagine why they would want to look so uneducated in their communication.

You know, I really feel the same way and I know I'm to old for most of the youngsters out here... I read some of the answers and I have to agree with one - Thank the Education system! To Many Kids are having kids and this is really hurting thier ability to grow up with any common sense or education because they skip to much school thinking it's cool. What is really scary is this is the adults of the future!?!

Nothing wrong with you at all; unfortunately, today's emphasis on PCs and shortcuts and lack of focus and apprecation for proper English vocabulary and grammar/spelling are taking a toll on kids of 2007. What they do not realize is, in order to get good jobs and move forward in their careers, they need to be able to speak intelligently and have a decent command of the English language.

I agree, I think kids today really can't write or spell. It isn't just abbreviations, it's incomplete questions, totally misspelled word, question marks where there isn't any question and totally improper English. I feel it is an embarrassment to the USA.

well im sure ur comment is true for some people, but usually its the laziness in people when typing over the internet....a new languange as been developed to make typing faster and "ezier" by sacrificing correct grammar and spelling for the sake of speed and effort.
