Im not a very big mike vick fan but has anyone ever seen that gatorade commercial (i think it was gatorade) where vick throws the ball into the stands. that was ammazing.

Anyway, Russell has a stronger arm. Vick has a strong arm, but he has small hands and an inconsistent delivery, meaning sometimes he throws lasers and sometimes he throws ducks. Russell throws pure heat all the time.
I've thought about Russell's arm a lot, because it is almost unprecedented. Who has had a better gun coming out of college??
I think you have to go to John Elway out of Stanford in 1983 for a comparison. When Elway came in, EVERYBODY was gushing over how strong his arm was and about how no point on the field was beyond reach and how (most impressively) he could throw 60 yards with velocity ON THE RUN.
Before Elway, the only other SuperCannon was Steve Bartkowski who, legend has it, threw the ball 100 yards while goofing off during a Cal practice session.
I think Russell ranks with those guys.

I don't know how acurate the Vick commercials are, but I saw a competition for collegiate QB'c this year and Russell threw the ball over 40 yards sitting flat on his rear! Try that. He then sit up on his knees and threw it an easy 65 yards from his knees. The announcers said he had thrown the ball 80+ yards standing earlier. If you know how far Vick can throw for real you can make the comparisons yourself. LOL

Vick has a very strong arm. So does Russell, freakishly so. But, in all honestly i do believe Russell's arm to be stronger. He's also much more accurate with his throws which kind of counts for more...

ive seen russel throw 50 yards while sitting on the ground, just pure arm. really putting his all into a throw he'd definately hit over 80 yds+. vick, maybe 70 yards on a good day...he's no where near as big or strong.

Yes.Vicks arm although very strong does not match Russells arm which can throw the ball 85 yards in the air.Pretty sick.

no, mike vick has the strongest arm in the NFL, even though he is not good, because he has horrible wr, (but maybe the addition of joe horn will help.)
jamarcus russell in a couple of years will
john elway though has the strongest arm in NFL history no doubt

yeah, but who cares. It's not like Russell is any good, or will ever amount to anything. He can't read a defense to save his life, and he has bad technique. I'm glad he will go to the Raiders, because a stupid team who would draft him deserves to have a sucky player. Brady Quinn is the next great QB
