Oh I feel your pain! My husband proposed in a god awful horrible way...also after dating for 4 years. I had the flu, his parents were there and so he freaked out and didn't really say anything and when his mom asked if he was going to ask I told her we'd already discussed it and the ring was a formality (trying to make him feel better) and she said and I quote "it doesn't count if he was drunk at the time"! So you see your proposal could've been worse! lol Seriously if you've been together that long, he's great, you love him and want to marry him then don't get upset over not having the romantic proposal. And trust me on this...he will realize how dumb he was for doing it that way and it will be something that will work in your favor later on b/c he'll try and make it up to you repeatedly.

Boy that is a strange time to ask you to marry him, I have no idea why. I would hope that he just decided he couldn't wait anymore...but if you and he are happy, he is romantic and treats you like the special lady you are then it doesn't matter. If he doesn't do those things for you and you want them, then once again the movie is not important and those issues are.

That proposal does not sound romantic at alll....rather just him settling for what works out and hoping you will do the same. To me true love is definitely not just finding someone who puts up with bs...I would want to know someone not only loves me but says why out loud. It sounds like that is important to you...I'd tell him before you marry anyone you want to hear how he feels about you other than "putting up with his bs". If you don't hear it now, you definitely won't after you get married.

Wow maybe he was planning it earlier and lost his momentum and it came back in the middle of the movie...Sorry but at least he asked...Maybe he just wanted to ask you and thought he would lose it again if he waited to long...

Congrats~

That's bad. If you want to marry him, then say yes. You'd think he'd wait till you're at least allowed to talk.
