Mitch Richmond and Vince Carter you can't compare. Two totally different athletes. Richmond is the better player because you had to respect him as a shooter you had to make him put the ball on the floor make him handle the ball and still he could get around that and make a 3. Carter is only 30 so he still has a ways to go to amass the career that Richmond had at this point the edge goes to Richmond. As you were saying about Carter's shooting his career 3 point percentage is about the same as Richmond's which is around 38 perecent.

They are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLAYERS

Mitch Richmond was a fantastic shooter and was the best player on a Kings team that couldn't make it to the playoffs until he was off the team. They did make it one year, but as a complementary player, he was super important to the kings.

RIchmond averaged more than 22 ppg for many years, Carter is a high flyer and more fun to watch, but I think it's unfair to compare them, they weren't the same type of player at all. Richmond never had a supporting cast that Carter has had.

richmond and carter were both scorers...thats been established. carter is defeintely more athletic while mitch was the better shooter and defender.

richmond had alsolutely no one on his team for so long which carter has had a young t-mac and j-kidd. michael jordan even stated that his toughest match-up was not miller, drexler...but mitch.

both have been focal points of their teams. richmond has a lot more heart than carter.

both havent won anything (i think richmond won a title riding the pine as a laker in 02').

overall, i think richmond is the better more complete player...but carter will be remembered more for the spectacular things he can do in the air.

I WILL USE THE POWER RATING.
POWER RATING = PR = POINTS + REBOUNDS + ASSISTS

V. CARTER - 23.9 + 5.4 + 4.0 = 33.3
M. RICHMOND - 21.0 + 3.9 + 3.5 = 28.4

CARTER HAS BETTER STATS AT THE PRESENT, THINGS COULD CHANGE. CARTER'S RATING COULD GO DOWN.
