how do u open ROMs?

i have download some pokemon games and they are in compressed (zipped) folders and when i try to open them it says that its invalid or corrupted. But all of them can't be.

Can I get some help PLEASE?

The archive itself is apparently corrupted, or in a format that Windows doesn't recognize. I'll send you a set of ROMS that I know will be good.

The zip files are screwed, download them again, or from another website.
